Bar – The free zone is the best form for attraction of direct foreign investments, and at the same time a great developmental chance of Montenegro. Because of that the free zones have to have their place in the national strategy of development – said the president of the company “Eurolink” Mladen Miranovic on an international press conference “Free zones of Montenegro”, which was held yesterday in Bar. “PR Vujovic” and “Eurolink” with the support of the Municipality of Bar, USAID, MBA, and MIPA organized it.
The president of the Municipality Dragan Simovic said that the first five investors in the Free zone of Bar Harbor at the moment the only one in Montenegro are freed from paying of all municipality taxes.
PhD Zdenka Djuric from Belgrade mentioned that the model of Chinese free zones should be followed, while Darko Konjevic from MBA said hat in those free zones small firms with four five workers should operate in them.
Vitomir Marvic from Slovenia pointed out that limitations “do not attract investors”:, while Hans Dither Gross from Germany and Lorenzo Maldieri from Italy have suggested to Montenegro to present in a more aggressive way through marketing its free zone to potential investors who, as they say, are not familiar with that possibility.
The main administrator of the Municipality of Kotor Radmila Muk was interested in the conditions at which their industry zone should become a free zone.
Petar Popovic from the shipbuilding yard in Bijela pointed out the problem of lack of expert personnel. He said “in the future I see my firm too as a Free zone”.
