Plav – The representatives of the Music academy from Cetinje and the centers for culture from Plav and Bijelo Polje, have started the initiative about the organization of the festival of “sevdalinka” (certain type of love songs). At the meeting, which was organized thanks to the joined initiative of professor of Music academy, Senad Gacevic and the representative of the Center of culture and Municipality Plav, they have arranged the first steps in realization of this project.
For a month the authoritative Municipal organs will be submitted a proposal and the concept of the organization of the festival, in order for them to estimate the possibilities of its realization.
– We will try to achieve something which until now was simply a desire and an ambition, and that it to establish the festival of “sevdalinka” that is the original folk songs of satiation in Plav. I have no doubts in the success of our intention, because, among other things, in realization of this intention we have included the music producer Mico Miranovic who in that field in Montenegro has had significant results – said Gacevic.
Miranovic said, that he is sure that this is a project, which will have life, and it will have the general support of the people from these areas.
– Those who have preserved such a good musical inheritance know for sure to appreciate the value of “sevdalinka”. Plav is a musical rarity of Montenegro, which has preserved the original song in its original form, and the obligation of all cultural employees id to strive to preserve that valuable thing. The preservation and affirmation of “sevdalinka” as a song, and at the same time preservation of the musical inheritance of these areas, are the most solid grounds of the festival – said Miranovic.
The meeting was attended by the director of the Center for culture of Bijelo Polje, Tufik Bojadzic who said that between Bijelo Polje and Plav in the area of culture there are numerous possibilities, which have not been used in the right way. In the following period better cooperation and exchange of experiences will be established, especially when we are talking about the organization of the festival.
