Budva – The contract with the Austrian Soravia group about the joined investment in the tourist lodgment Slovenska plaza and the construction of the new hotel in Budva will soon be ready for signing and gpresented to the Government and the parliament of the share holders of Budva Riviera – said yesterday the minister of tourism Predrag Nenezic after the working visit to Budva.
Austrian company is interested that through the joined investment (“joint venture”) with Budva Riviera founds a company in which the ownership would be divided. Budva would have the guaranteed present (current) profit, and a part of the remaining profit it would invest in the facilities of Slovenska plaza, while the Austrians would invest minimum 24 millions of euros in the reconstruction of the tourist lodgment, and they would invest 40 millions of euros in the construction of a new hotel close to the city pool.
Nenezic cleared that we are not talking about privatization, but that the contract is limited to 21 year, after which the facilities of the tourist lodgment would return into the ownership of Budva Riviera.
He said that after the arrangement with the Austrians the level of the quality of Slovenska plaza will be raised at least to 3+ stars of the international standard.
Nenezic estimated that it is a job with extremely low degree of risk, which shows that Montenegro is a secure area for investment.
– It is a good arrangement, because we are talking about the guaranteed profit for Budva Riviera, plus the variable part which would depend on the level of business. The Austrians will give two kinds of guarantees, one for the investment, and the other for the guaranteed profit. As a serious state which has dealt successfully with the political frame and the macro economic stability, powerful partners find it good to enter the arrangements of joined investment with the state, because it brings them a certain air of security – concluded Nenezic.
The deputy of the executive director of Budva Riviera, Vule Tomasevic said that the Astrians will be obliged with the contract to take over all 255 workers of the Slovenska plaza. They will be guaranteed their work and salaries can not be lower that the present ones.
– If everything goes right in the following three years, Slovenska plaza would be reconstructed in phases. Having in mind that we are talking about a big complex of 2.500 beds, already at the beginning of the next season we would have completely renewed two parts of the lodgment with 600 beds – said Tomasevic.
