Kotor – Each year we mark increased number of tourists speaking on nautical tourism – said counselor in Ministry of tourism Marija Rajkovic during visit with journalists to exclusive sailing boat “Star Clippers” at Kotor bay. She said again that Montenegro has conditions for development of nautical tourism and that Ministry of tourism in cooperation with Ministry of protection of environment and Sea wealth started activities at making strategies on development of nautical tourism.
-On the basis of analyses was marked mine locations that will be basis of development nautical tourism or mine marinas, two service, four standard and three VIP marinas – said Rajkovic stressing that Kotor port has all conditions for development of nautical tourism.
From this summer more than last years in Kotor port each day there are some twenty smaller or larger floating boats among which is surely exclusive modern yachts of renown world shipyards.
Beside this from current season Kotor became destination of exclusive sailing boat “Star Clippers” during twenty cruising on Mediterranean.
This sailing boat had already two arrivals in June and July and are planed two more arrivals in August and September.
Beside “Star Clippers” company with principal office in Monaco has two more “Star Flyer” and “Royal Clipper” that is at the same time the largest sailing boat in the world and they will in this season visit Kotor and Boka on their cruising trips.
“Star Clippers” was built in 1992 in Belgium, it is 111 meters long with 117 passengers and 75 crew members. Has speed of 16.5 to 17 knots that is very fast for sailing boats and the mast is 62 meters high.
For passengers from the sailing boat are organized tourist tours, visit to Old town, climbing along Kotor winding steps to Cetinje and over Budva return to Kotor.
Master of ship Sergej Utitsyn told interesting thing how it came to mark Kotor and Boka as their destinations that will visit during their trips.
In the company there are several employees from Montenegro. One of them waiter Franjo Ravlija from Kotor suggested to owner of the company to visit Montenegro and that it is lovely country. He brought propaganda material on Montenegro, monograph of Kotor and promoted your country in the best possible way… and it all started so – said Utitsyn and added “That the likes Montenegro very much and that it is really beautiful country”.
