Podgorica – Montenegro in November will become a full right member of the World Tourist organization (UNWTO) – announced yesterday the president of the sector of that organization for Europe Luigi Cabrini.
World tourist organization belongs to the United Nations, and its representative is for the first time officially in Montenegro.
Cabrini spoke yesterday with the Montenegrin Prime Minister Zeljko Sturanovic. As it was said after the meeting, he said that the biggest growth in tourism was made in the developing markets where Montenegro takes up one of the leading positions.
Sturanovic informed Cabrini about the Government’s strategy in tourism and about the achieved results in this sector, which was supported by the representative of UNWTO.
From the Government it was said that together they have stressed the importance of the sustainable development of tourism in Montenegro, especially in the National parks and areas that surround them.
– Popularizing of Montenegro as a destination in which tourism is developing on sustainable basis contributes the seminar in Kolasin under the patronage of World tourist organization dedicated to indicators of the sustainability and destination management in that part of the country – it is said in the announcement.
Cabrini introduced the president of the Government and the minister of tourism and protection of environment Predrag Nenezic, who also took part in the meeting, with the global trends of development of tourism.
