Zabljak – Monica and Paul Gamper from Zurich last year trip through Zabljak was sufficient to plan to come at the end of May and to stay in the town under Durmitor. They had the intention of staying here for thee weeks, but when the date of their return came close they changed their mind and stayed.
– Last year short visit was sufficient for this exquisite nature to charm us, to make us love this people and to decide to come here always. Here is the real adventure; these people are amazingly kind and affectionate. Our mountains are beautiful, but Durmitor is even more beautiful. We are not interested in hotels, but in summer pasture cottages where we will buy agricultural products of your local women – say Monica and Paul from Switzerland who are exclusively traveling by train or by bus.
Accommodated in private accommodation and with the hospitality they have become almost as local people. Not in one single moment they say, had their time been monotonous. First 15 days their base station was Zabljak, and from there they went to sightseeing every day.
– We were on Crno Jezero (Black lake) and we were caught by a shower size of nuts, which for just a second turned the entire area in white as if it was snowing. We went to Mlinski potok (Mill Stream) on Zminje, then on Jablan jezero (European Ash tree lake). We went on Curevac and we saw what only you here have; the view in the deep, winding Tara which takes your breath away, and indigo blue Ljubisnja and the surrounding villages.we spent one day in Pljevlja, we have visited the monastery of Sveta Trojica and Husein – pasha’s mosque. Those are impressive edifices, but Pljevlja have a beautiful park near the stadium in which one river has fit in perfectly – say nice Swiss, who on Zabljak already have a lot of acquaintances. During the yesterday’s meeting they told us that in the last seven days they were in the massif of Durmitor and that they camped in Lokvice.
– We slept in a tent even though there were empty shacks and a mountain home nearby. In that way one can only experience the mountain. We didn’t mind the sporadic rains or thunders. Every day at the same time the rain fell which was suitable for us because after the stabilization of the weather we could visit those areas. We will never forget Ledena pecina (Ice Cave) and impressive ice figures in it. In our neighborhood we had Vuk Kovacevic who recently has take out on summer pasture his 200 sheep and lams. Every day we socialized with that highlander. We were present also when he was clipping and milking the sheep, when he was cooking the milk in the hearthstone, when he was pouring milk in dishes and we have seen the production of kajmak, and cheese. We were treated by this good people – -says Monica and Paul and point outr that for them those are all new experiences.
They will stay on Durmitor for another seven days. They are planning to visit Skrsko lakes, Sedlo, and they want to go on Bobotov kuk also. They have taken pictures of everything, and among pictures is also a text from “Vijesti” “Durmitor more beautiful than the Alps”. Yesterday without even thinking they once again confirmed that conviction and they terminated with the words “God gives us health and we shall come here next year too”.
