Tivat – Navy – technical repair bureau “Sava Kovacevic” from Tivat got a prestigious “Actualidad 21st Century International Award” – the international award for leadership and quality which is issued every year by the Spanish international magazine for tourism, business, and commercial “Actualidad” from Madrid. This magazine follows through the business happenings in 140 countries of the world, during which based on the long time successful work and results it chooses and proclaims the best companies. This year, the awards of the magazine “Actualidad” got firms from Spain, Greece, India, and Montenegro.
The representatives of the Spanish magazine at the end of the last week gave the award to the executive director of the Arsenal, the captain of the frigate Vuceta Stanisic and the president of UO NTRB Vuk Boskovic, on the ceremony held in Athens.
It is interesting that the international selection committee for the Actualidad award gave that recognition to Arsenal just before the closing down of that 118-year-old shipbuilding firm.
Montenegrin government has decided to shut down the Tivat military shipbuilding yard marking its basic activity as non- perspective, so in a few months NTRB will cease to work, and the Canadian businessman Peter Munk will built on that place and exclusive nautical – tourist center.
Otherwise, the representatives of the management of Arsenal already at the end of this week will go again abroad for another significant award – the award which NTRB “Sava Kovacevic” got from the distinguished business association of industry workers “Leaders Trade Club”, and which will be given to the director of the Arsenal Vuceta Stanisic on the 23rd of April on a ceremony which will be held in Paris.
At the same time, beside the official awards, many indirect, but for the life of workers more significant recognitions of business partners are arriving in Arsenal these days, such as the one from the war navies of Libya and Egypt, which because of the certain shutting down of NTRB, in various ways are trying to continue the cooperation with the workers from Tivat, mainly engaging experienced Arsenal’s engineers and ship repair workers in their countries.
