Budva – The future leaser of “Sveti Stefan”, Singapore Company Aman resorts, during the reconstruction of this elite town hotel will have to respect all the conservational conditions which will be issued by the Republic Bureau for preservation of monuments, so that the valuable cultural – historical heritage which is found inside this hotel complex can be protected.
Minister of culture, media and sport, Predrag Sekulic, and the vice president of the director of the Bureau for protection of the cultural monuments, Predrag Malbasa, have spoken yesterday in Budva with the chiefs of HTE “Budva Riviera”.
– The main topic of that conversation was the protection of Sveti Stefan in the following period as a very important monument, very significant, not only for Budva, but for entire Montenegro. We are talking about a facility dating from the XV century, which was a cultural and political center of Pastrovici. Considering the fact that the realization of the long term contract with the Singapore company Aman Resorts is about to happen, we have spoken about how to preserve the existing cultural – historical monuments on Sveti Stefan. We made an agreement very easy with the chiefs of Budva Riviera about the conditions of the conservational and renovation works. We think that the same attitude has the Singapore Company Aman Resorts, because we all share the common interest and that is the preservation of Sveti Stefan – said Sekulic after the meeting with the chiefs of Budva Riviera.
He stressed that the Republic Bureau for protection of monuments has obliged to determine the conditions of the renovation of Sveti Stefan based documentation for which there is an idea project.
– The experts of the Republic Bureau with the insight in that document have said that almost 99% of that idea project is in accordance with what conservational conditions are. I hope that the footsteps of Budva Riviera will be followed by many other owners of the cultural monuments in Montenegro – stated Sekulic.
The director of the Sector for the development and investments of Budva Riviera, Ljubo Radjenovic that all of this is being done in order to create the conditions for the taking over of the facilities by the future leaser in the beginning of January, and also to create conditions for the beginning of their works.
– The goal and our great desire, as owners, but also the goal and the desire of the investors and the Bureau for protection of Monuments, and the Ministry of culture is to follow the conservational conditions through the works, not to lose anything from the monumental treasure of Sveti Stefan – said Radjenovic.
Montenegrin Government at the beginning of November gave green light to the suggested text of the contract about the long term lease of the hotels Sveti Stefan, Milocer, and Kraljicina plaza (QUEEN”S BEECH) with the Singapore Company Aman Resorts. With the contract, which soon should be concluded, it is expected that the Singapore Company will take over 3 luxurious hotels from the beginning of January on a period of 30 years, for whose lease yearly they will pay at least 2 millions of euros.
In the renewal of Sveti Stefan, and Milocer, as well as for the construction of the new hotel Kraljicina plaza the company will invest at least 40 millions of euros.
