Tivat – During the first four months of this year airport Tivat has received and served totally 682 planes, which is 36% more than at the same time last year.
Until the 1st of May through the building of the Tivat airport went 72.380 passengers, which is 57% better result than last year.
– Significant increase of number of passengers in the first four months of 2007 compared to the same period last year, guarantees that we will surpass the plan for this year which predicts the growth of 15%, that is the circulation of 520.000 of passengers. As things are standing now, and having in mind the schedule of flights for the up coming main tourist season, it is realistic that until the end of the year we will have the circulation of about 550.000 of passengers which is for 1/5 better than the result which we had in 2006 – said yesterday the director of the airport Tivat M.A. Ranko Boskovic.
He stressed that for the this year’s significant growth of the scope of traffic in the first four months very important is the program of rest of several thousands of pensioners from Austria in Montenegro, which already for a month with eight planes a week, through airport Tivat, have been coming to Montenegrin coast.
Boskovic emphasized that the airport in Saturday has noted the circulation of 23 planes and 3.549 passengers, which tells us that the main tourist season in that airport is already starting to heat up.
The number of 20 received planes in one day last year was made fr the first time on the 20th of May.
– Yesterday again we had 20 planes and 4.238 passengers – said Boskovic.
THEY ARE EXPECTING 39 PLANES PER DAY
According to the schedule of flights for the next three months, each day we will receive and serve minimum of 17 to maximally 39 big traveling planes on which you should add also the small airplanes from the segment of the so-called general aviation. We are happy because of the fact that a much greater number of tourists will come to Montenegro through out airport, but that at the same time is a huge obligation to respond in the right way to the expectations of air companies and passengers – said Boskovic.
