Tivat – During the first two and a half months of this year, on the runway of Tivat airport landed 351 airplanes, which is significantly bigger than in the same period last year, when there were 259 planes.
In the period from the 1st of January to the 18th of March this year Tivat airport noted the circulation of 32.580 passengers, which is for about 40% more than in the same period last year.
The plan for this year is to make the circulation for 15% bigger from the one we had last year when we had more than 451 thousands of passengers and noted the growth of 20% compared to 2005. That means that in this year we will have a threshold of half a million of passengers, but as things are happening already now and judging by the interest for the up coming season I think that this years growth of 15% we have planned to modestly – said yesterday for “Vijesti” the director of the airport tivat M.A. Ranko Boskovic.
The excellent result, he added, will be noted already in the pre- season thanks to the special program of rest of pensioners from Austria in Montenegro.
Company “Lauda air” through airport Tivat, in the period from 4th of April to 9th of May will bring between 8 and 10 thousands of tourists from Austria on Montenegrin coast, which means that solely thanks to that arrangement, in the pre-season we will have almost 20 thousands of passengers more than in the same period last year – said Boskovic adding that in a few days the Russian company “Moskovia” will implement a regular line Moscow – Tivat – Moscow.
Beside that one, for Tivat already during the entire year in regular and charter flights fly the airplanes of Russian companies “Kras air”, and “Siberia”.
PREPRATIONS FOR THE NEW SEASON
Based on the so far collected data, said Boskovic, the traffic with Tivat this year will have 27 domestic and foreign air companies which will connect Montenegrin coast with about 30 towns in Europe.
– New destinations are being opened, so in that way this year airplanes from Tivat will fly to significantly bigger number of towns especially in Germany, France, and the states of the former SSSR – said Boskovic.
In Tivat airport, he added, already actions are being taken in order to await the fruitful but also very hard season as better as possible, which demands from the staff of the Montenegrin airport to receive and serve about 40, planes a day in the “rush days”.
