Zabljak – Participants of the pilot bicycle tours which is being organized by the National tourist organization of Montenegro in cooperation with the Center for initiatives in the area of sustainable tourism ADFC and Bicycle organization from Germany which has over 120.000 members stopped yesterday on Zabljak during the 15 days of how much their ride lasts.
Director of the Center Slavica Vukcevic said that during the 15 days of the travel bicycle riders from Germany would have the opportunity to visit 4 national parks.
During the whole journey guests will have the chance to stay in various types and categories of accommodation. They will gather as much as possible of photo documentation, and during their stay on Ceranica gora and Kapetanovo lake Carly Calhoun a photographer of National geographic adventure joined them. In Kolasin on September 13th we expect a congress to be organized on which the plans related to development of this tourist product will be presented – said Vukcevic.
She added that the goal of the mission is to develop active vacation on the North of Montenegro, and one segment is dedicated to cycling and hiking.
– Caravan is avoiding frequent traffic roads and they have planned to go around 700 km of local and mountain roads. It is a demanding mission which began on Skadar Lake, then over the hill to Virpazar, further on to Podgorica, Danilovgrad, Glava Zete, Niksic, Ceranica gora. From there they went to Savnik, Petnjica, Duzi, Bezuje, Trsa, Pluzine, and Scepan Polje and Crkvicko Polje. Then they had the uphill on mountain Piva, through Nikovici again on Trsa, then to Nedajno and then downhill to Susica canyon. From there they went to village Crna Gora, and over Stuoc to Zabljak – she said.
Caravan yesterday went from Zabljak over Sinjajevina and Vratlo to Mojkovac. According to the plan the expedition will cross over Bijelasica, and Sisko Lake, Crna and Zekova glava, and summer pasture house Vranjak. Over Stavna they are going to Andrijevica, further on to Plav, Gusinje, and Vusanje up to Komovi and then back to Kolasin. After that they will go over Matasevo to Podgorica, then to Cetinje and Njegusi, and down to Boka where the mission will end.
Vukcevic added that the guides of the expedition are manager of the center for initiatives in the area of sustainable tourism Svetlana Vujicic, Danilo Grbovic from Zabljak TA “Samit”, and Vukosav Milo Jeknic an activist from Kolasin.
