Zabljak/Bijelo Polje – Long lasting heats, which sometimes had tropical characteristics day before yesterday, were replaced by freshness, and then by snow. Yesterday morning Durmitor was all white. New snow was visible on the roofs of the houses, on cars, and lawns, and snowflakes appeared all the way to the middle of the canyon of Tara.
Snow fell from time to time and yesterday it forced the citizens and tourists to put on winter clothes and to start a fire in their ovens in their houses. The impression was that the coolness and the snow were very welcome, most probably because of the condition on the springs, which will condition some restrictions. And precipitation will bring renewal of pastures so cattle breeders on Durmitor are hoping for better grazing of their cattle. It is also great that the last focal points of fires, which in the past period have ruined hundreds of hectares of pinewoods in the canyon of Tara, and made and ugly and sad sight of gorgeous area of NP Durmitor which as a natural value are under double international protection, have been completely brought down.
In the past 24 hours the rain fell non-stop also in the area of Bijelo Polje. On the sloped of Koritska visoravan (Koritska upland) in village Sipanje and in villages above Kovren yesterday morning snow fell whose height at some places was up to 5 cm. cold weather has forced people from Bijelo Polje too to turn the heat on and to put on some warmer clothes.
