Vranjina
Vranjina is a unique island village in Montenegro’s Lake Skadar National Park, connected to the mainland by a bridge, offering a blend of historical sites and natural beauty.
Historical Significance and Monastery
The Monastery Vranjina is a well-known feature of the island. In 1843, Turks ruined the monastery, turning it into a fortress. King Nikola renewed it in 1886, but traces of the old monastery have not been preserved. Consequently, in 1998, the monastery was repaired and renovated again.
Natural Setting and Village Life
The Vranjina village is often called the Montenegrin Venice due to its natural setting and specific atmosphere. Fishing is a very popular activity here. Moreover, you will find a couple of great restaurants located on or near the island.
