Sveti Nikola Island

Montenegro’s Sveti Nikola Island, nicknamed “Hawaii near Budva,” is a premier attraction on the Budva Riviera. Historically, it was connected to the mainland by a sandy sandbar known as “tunja.” Today, this island offers a pristine escape with translucent seas, blue skies, and Mediterranean charm, making it a must-visit for travelers exploring Montenegro.

Getting to and Experiencing Sveti Nikola Island

To reach the island’s beaches and capes, the easiest way is by taxi boats or barges. Once you arrive, a translucent and clear sea awaits you, along with blue skies, sunbeams, and the smells and tastes of the Mediterranean. Consequently, a one-day trip to Sveti Nikola Island offers swimming and exploration if you embark on such a project yourself, or you can simply enjoy the sea, peace, and Mediterranean ambiance.

Features and Natural Environment of the Island

Today, part of the island is privatized, featuring a new restaurant and two modernly arranged beaches. Moreover, a marina building is planned for that area. Sveti Nikola Island is home to deer, rabbits, roe deer, birds, and some rare floral species. It is covered with thick conifers, pine, and spruce forests. Indeed, much of the island remains unexplored, craving for new Robinson Crusoes to discover its hidden wonders.
