Montenegro Railway
Montenegro’s railway system offers spectacular mountain journeys and vital European connections, with the Bar-Belgrade line linking coastal Montenegro to Serbia’s capital through the European network.
Scenic Mountain Railways and Tourist Attractions
The Northern Montenegrin railway climbs high through breathtaking mountains, making it a tourist attraction on its own. Indeed, the line from Podgorica to Kolasin crosses the bridge over Mala Rijeka, which is the highest railway bridge in Europe and a favorite spot for base jumping.
Major Railway Lines and European Connections
Montenegro has a railway line connecting Bar, located on the Montenegro coast, and Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. As part of the European railway network, it allows travel to Montenegro by train from anywhere in Europe. The terminal stop is Bar, with the train passing through Podgorica, Kolasin, Mojkovac, and Bijelo Polje.
Another railway line connects Montenegro’s capital, Podgorica, and its second-largest city, Nikšić.
