Sveta Nedjelja Island
Sveta Nedjelja Island is a small island located directly across from Petrovac in Montenegro. It features a church built in the late 20th century, replacing the original destroyed in the 1979 earthquake. The island is accessible by tourist boats, kayaks, or pedalino boats, but swimming is not recommended due to the nearly 1km distance from shore.
Location and History of Sveta Nedjelja Island
The island is located right across from Petrovac. On the island itself, there is a small church built in the late 20th century after the devastating 1979 earthquake, which completely destroyed the original one.
How to Reach Sveta Nedjelja Island
The island can be reached by many tourist boats that go from Petrovac, or for the more adventurous, by kayak or pedalino boats. Even though the island seems quite near when looking from the beach, it is actually almost 1km away, so we wouldn’t advise trying to reach it by swimming.
