The ship Dubrovnik is back on the Bar-Bari route starting from tonight. On the maritime route Bar-Bari, after the winter break, the ship Dubrovnik, of Croatia’s Jadrolinija, will start with transportation again.

Tonight it will set off on it’s first trip to Bari, and this route will be maintained once or twice a week, until the end of the season.

According to the Bar info portal, the ship will operate in the course of May and June on Wednesdays, in July and August on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and from September to December, once a week.

The Bar-Bari route was established in 1965, under the patronage of the former Prekookean Cruise. Over two million passengers, 450,000 cars, 150,000 trucks, and trailers have been transported, which is a huge number for Montenegro. The most successful years were 1995 and 1996 when 100,000 passengers were transported annually.

Jadrolinija is Croatian ferry company that connects most of the Croatian islands to the mainland by regular passenger and car ferry services along the Croatian coast. The company also runs several international routes between Croatia and Italy (Ancona and Bari).  It is a state-owned company and therefore subsidised by the state budget.

Historically, Jadrolinija was founded in Rijeka, Croatia in January 1947 from a fleet of several smaller Croatian companies that were operating in Adriatic since the 19th century. It was initially named as  ‘Jadranska linijska plovidba’ which was later changed to shorter one –  ‘Jadrolinija‘.

It also has 45 smaller ferries, conventional ships, catamarans, and hydrofoils serving local routes along the Croatian coast.

Jadrolinija’s ferries are safe and comfortable, most of them with air-conditioned restaurants, cafes and cabins offering relaxing and enjoyable journeys. Restaurants and cafés on ferries serve a choice of nice hot and cold food as well as a selection of spirits, wines, soft drinks as well as tea and coffee.
