This luxury boutique hotel is situated in the peaceful village of Dobrota, on the edge of Kotor Bay. The purpose-built Forza Terra Boutique Hotel & Spa opened in spring 2017 with a neo-classical façade, replete with wrought iron balconies, and contemporary interiors with eclectic furnishing and some whimsical details. From reception, a marble staircase spirals around a circular glass lift shaft to the upper levels.

There are 10 rooms and two suites. Each one is individually decorated, inspired by (and named after) a well-known international designer: Armani, Gucci, Dior, Fendi and more. Expect lots of reflective surfaces (glass, mirrors, marble, black tiles and gold fittings) and lush fabrics such as silk, velvet and leopard-skin prints.

The two standard rooms each have a French-balcony looking down onto La Piazza with its plunge pool and bar. The eight superior rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto sea-view balconies, while the two top-floor suites combine a double bedroom and a living room, and each have a spacious private terrace with wide views over the bay.

Wake up with views of the Bay of Kotor, then wander down to the private beach under the palms. Aside from a modern, Mediterranean restaurant, the hotel has an onsite enoteca–where you can try the best local and foreign wines–a wellness centre and glorious sea views. Quiet Dobrota is ideally located for exploring the Bay of Kotor’s highlights, such as Perast town, Our Lady of the Rocks island church, Kotor and Lovćen National Park.
